Statement to voters
Vote for positive change and to be heard by local government.
I want people to be heard, and I’m already listening!
I want people to feel safe and welcome in our city. I’ll put women’s safety at the heart of council policies around anti-social behaviour and violence. I will push for the council to continue improving its support for our most vulnerable people, including rough sleepers and homeless families hidden in temporary accommodation.
I’ll support crucial improvements so more people can access the city by bus, bicycle and on foot, reducing traffic pollution and congestion. I’ll make sure major redevelopments like the bus station represent value for money. I’ll push to maintain leisure facilities everyone can enjoy.
I’ve lived in Exeter as both a student and a resident.
As a British diplomat I saw UK politicians make promises they could not keep, and knew this was wrong. I joined the Women’s Equality Party because WE are offering a more inclusive approach that champions social justice.
We are a diverse city, and that’s something we can celebrate. When people with different lifestyles rub shoulders, it needn't create friction. I’ll bring people together across the ward to talk and to listen.
