The government has passed legislation to postpone all elections until 6 May 2021.
Statement to voters
Tony Thorpe has been a member of the local Labour Party since 1980 and a school governor in Sutton since 1985. He is a Life Member of the Friends of Carshalton Water Tower, a member of the Friends of the Grove (Park), and a former committee member of the Friends of Honeywood. He is a retired Civil Servant (from HM Prison Service) and has been a member of the PCS union since 1974.
Tony is standing as a Labour & Co-operative candidate in Carshalton Central, was a Co-op Group committee member between 1991 and 2009 and has been Chair of the National Federation of Progressive Co-operators since 2006. He is Secretary of Sutton Co-operative Party, a keen proponent of co-ops and mutuals, especially housing co-ops, Credit Unions, and Co-op schools and welcomed the launch of the Sutton Education Trust on 1 February 2017. Tony is also a member of Sutton Community Farm.
