Statement to voters
I am a long-standing local campaigner and former Sutton Councillor who led campaigns to secure £219 million and a new building for St Helier Hospital, which the Lib Dems in coalition with the Tories abandoned five years later. In the 1990's I fought against the Poll Tax and to defend the old Queen Mary's Hospital as well led a campaign that stopped Sutton Council's housing being transferred to another landlord. As a Councillor, I was able to fight to keep weekly brown bin collections showing this was essential to a proper waste collection service.
The ending of the Lib Dem approved Incinerator Contract as a few air monitors proposed by the Tories are quite simply not enough to protect people's lungs
A public inquiry into the Veolia Bin contact to enable residents to get the service they deserve not continued delays to the collection
Restoring Beddington Library that was closed by the Lib Dems
An X26 bus stop for Beddington
Residents to have a say over the future of Sheen Way Playing fields
A proper traffic management plan for Tharp Road, Beddington Grove ad Sandy Lane North
