Joe Otten was the Liberal Democrats candidate in Dore & Totley in the Sheffield local election. They were elected with 3,795 votes. Our volunteers have been adding information on Joe Otten - here's everything we know so far!

Statement to voters

Joe has lived in Sheffield since 1989, set up his software business here, is married to a local GP, and sends his children to local state schools.

Elected to Sheffield City Council in 2011, he represents Dore and Totley. He has frequently challenged the Labour council to be more ambitious for Sheffield: to embrace the opportunities of devolution to attract investment and jobs. This challenge is doubly relevant now, given the uncertainty resulting from Brexit.

Joe is horrified at the weakness of the Labour opposition. He is determined to be a more effective opposition to the Conservative government and a stronger voice for Sheffield than Labour is capable of being.

This statement was added by Joe Otten, their team, or by a Democracy Club volunteer, based on information published by the candidate elsewhere.
