Statement to voters

"I’m standing to be a Borough Councillor for Arley and Whitacre Ward as someone who has lived in Arley for the last 18 years and knows the area and issues faced by local people. – I worked at the Borough Council before I retired then became a County Councillor for a short time before I stood down to help look after my parents. I care about the future for our young and older people, for those who are working and, or caring for family or neighbours and for those struggling to access jobs, training, housing or services they need.

I was born and brought up in Coventry and qualified as a teacher. I have worked in schools and colleges and for a number of years I worked in the voluntary sector to help residents tackle housing problems. I have also worked for Councils, building partnerships with Police, Health Services, Local Businesses and local Voluntary and Community Groups to improve the lives and opportunities of local people.

My experience means I am used to dealing with the range of organisations that affect our day to day lives and I will do my best to achieve better services and opportunities for residents of Arley and Whitacre."
