Statement to voters

"I live in Hartshill with my husband, young toddler and 4 dogs. Since moving here from Birmingham a few years ago, we’ve been really welcomed by the local community and I now can’t imagine living anywhere else.

It’s because I care about our community that I want to be your Labour councillor. The pressure on community services has been immense the last ten years, but I’m determined to do my bit to protect what we have: our community centre, our post office, our local shops and schools. We’re lucky enough to own our own home, but I’m constantly reminded that so many of our young people are struggling to afford to buy starter homes where they grew up.

I have worked in both the public and private sector, and for a while ran a successful small business in Hartshill. I understand the importance of customer service and know how to get things done."
