Statement to voters
I am currently Leader of Folkestone & Hythe District Council and I am standing for Elham Valley division in the KCC election on 1st May, where the Green Party came a close second in 2021.
Full statement
I was one of the first Green councillors elected to the district council in 2019 and became Leader in 2023 when the Greens became the largest party on the council.
I first became interested in local politics as Chair of the Save Princes Parade campaign. I continued the fight as a Hythe town and district councillor and in 2023 was able to announce that the unpopular seafront development in Hythe would not go ahead. As Leader of Folkestone & Hythe District Council I have worked closely with community groups, parish and town councils in Elham Valley. A chartered surveyor by profession, I am passionate about making development as sustainable as possible.
I listen to resident's concerns and will do everything possible to stand up for Elham Valley.
Please vote Green on 1st May.
Promoted by Malcolm Watkinson on behalf of Jim Martin and Shepway Green Party. Both c/o White Lodge, Church Road, New Romney, TN28 8EX.
