Statement to voters

I have lived in Broadland for over 30 years with my wife and two children, now grown up and pursuing their own adventures in life.

Full statement

I am a District councillor representing Brundall Ward.

I've been an active Parish Councillor and community volunteer for many years. My varied career in the public, private and charitable sectors as a public health engineer and leading a local government team at County Hall has given me a good understanding of how local and national government operates and the urgent need to support public services that have been eroded in recent years.

In the local elections in May 2023, I doubled my majority and the Greens doubled the number of seats on Broadland Council. We are now in a partnership leading the council. As Cabinet Member for Environment, I am working for more environmentally sound policies and for the council to reach net zero by 2030. Greens are on the rise and a Green vote is not a wasted vote.

A vote for the Green Party is a vote for an alternative way of doing politics, for consensual politics that builds a fair, just, and sustainable society representing the interests of the majority, now and for the future.
