Statement to voters
I was born in and grew up in a new town, moving to Stevenage when life brought me to Hertfordshire over a decade ago. I fully appreciate the excellent location and communications that Stevenage benefits from. As a new town it is very much my home.
I understand the incredible value of Local Authority services in helping people faced with disadvantage and ensuring equality and fairness. Making life better is at the heart of Labour policies. I am a strong advocate and more than able to aid members of our community who are facing issues in need of help and guidance. As a Labour Representative this for me would be the most rewarding element of the role.
I have an objective of making a positive difference for the community in which I live. I have much experience and skill to bring and offer in service of our community and am happy to add to my work for and with the Labour Party as your Councillor. I will make sure regeneration works for local people.
The Conservative government has cut Stevenage Borough Council’s grant to zero since 2011/12. Despite this, I am determined to stand up for Longmeadow and for all of Stevenage.
As your Labour and Cooperative Party candidate I am committed to a fairer society, believing that things work best when everyone has a voice and when services are accountable to the people who use them.
I am meeting hundreds of Longmeadow residents, discussing our local community, and how I may be able to help our town achieve its full potential as a local Councillor. I recognise this is a matter of trust, and pledge to uphold that trust invested in me by all those who vote Labour on May 2nd.
