Sam Banks's policies
Statement to voters
I am a teacher and a parent and live on the Isle of Sheppey; I am passionate about our community and want to bring real change to improve the lives of our residents.
Full statement
I understand the challenges and unique aspects of living on Sheppey and that only real change can provide for our children’s futures, this is why I am standing for the Green Party in this election.
We need significant social change to create a more equal society. As a teacher, I am passionate about education reform and creating opportunities for people of all ages to access learning.
It is imperative that we move towards a sustainable society where everyone’s needs are fully met. By improving people’s quality of life, reducing financial stress and reforming education and childcare, we pave the way for environmental change where people are engaged in creating a better world for future generations, and are empowered to live sustainably, rather than essentially.
As a nation, we need to: - Protect the environment locally and globally; - Protect the NHS and reform social care; - Provide Greener, affordable public transport that serves all our rural communities; - Provide truly affordable housing, including social rented and affordable homes; - Reduce poverty levels drastically.
I feel very proud to be standing for election as your member of parliament and will do everything I can to support my community if elected.
