Before my wife and I moved to Barnstaple just under four years ago, we lived in Kent where I was Chair of Tonbridge Town Team, a member of the community rail partnership and board member of Kent Farmers’ Market Association.

I was also a co-founder of Tonbridge and Malling Friends of the Earth and Fairtrade Tonbridge.

I would love to use the experience I gained working with these organisations to help regenerate Barnstaple and make it a great place to live, work and visit. I want to see a green, clean town with a thriving economy that works for everybody while taking practical measures to combat climate change and improve the public realm. I support volunteer initiatives such as Barnstaple in Bloom and the Barnstaple Arts Festival – two examples of the kind of initiatives the town needs to build an inclusive community. I want to see better public transport and cycling infrastructure, to protect our NHS, and provide much more affordable housing.

We face very challenging times but I believe I have the experience to make a positive and creative contribution to a sustainable future for our town and North Devon as a whole.
