Statement to voters
"My name is Patrick Silke and Kingsbury has been my home since 1999. I am proud to be part of our village. It’s a fantastic rural community but over these many years it has in my view gone backwards with very little progress.
Whilst we all enjoy the rural countryside that surrounds Kingsbury, the popularity of the Kingsbury Water Park for example has been bringing in people from outside the community and because of that that we have become one of the top areas to visit within the West Midlands. We should have better public transport, public services and affordable housing. In my view we shouldn’t be the poor relation but be considered up there with other top areas.
I understand the issues that we all face in these challenging times. We have over the past nine years faced immense austerity with cuts blighting our local community leading to a high Crime rate and very little Police on our streets. This must stop now as people’s lives matter.
What matters to me, as a Kingsbury resident like you, is that we are valued, involved and engaged in matters that affect us as a community.
I care a great deal about People and fighting for you will be my priority. Communication is one of the things that I feel is missing and if I am elected I will ensure that everyone will become part of the process. I value the public services we all require. I want to make a difference and I will not hesitate to speak up and fight for Kingsbury.
A vote for me ensures that not only will your voice be heard but we can make things happen to make Kingsbury look great again."
