Statement to voters

Laura was born in Sudbury and grew up there.

Full statement

She raised a son as a single mother and worked at a local primary school as a teaching assistant before feeling the pull into local politics.

"I was sick of how things have got so difficult for ordinary people; I wanted to make a positive difference so I decided to step up and 'be the change'.
I was honoured to be elected to Babergh District Council in 2023. I have worked hard to put the interests of Sudbury residents first.
If elected I will make sure Sudbury's voice is heard at Suffolk County Council level."

Green priorities for Suffolk County Council include:

  • fixing the pothole epidemic and road sign chaos
  • supporting independent businesses in our high streets
  • investing in nature recovery, sustainable farming and flood protection
  • allowing communities to control speed limits
  • supporting buses, walking and cycling
  • enhancing local SEND education provision in Suffolk
