He moved to this part of Suffolk with his wife Caroline when BT offered him a new role at their Ipswich base, then later transferred to BT’s groundbreaking research centre at Martlesham where he is responsible for the day to day running of its computer halls. At home Leigh is the sound and lighting man for Bildeston’s am dram society and a key fundraiser the annual village music festival. He and Caroline’s riding days are on hold because their beloved German warmblood mare Paris – stabled in Elmsett - is now too old. Leigh said: “Having grown up in a city, village life means a lot to me. I’m standing to be a councillor because I care about the villages in this area and it seems to me the current Conservative administration does not.”"
