Statement to voters
I am 53 years old and live in the Didcot and Wantage area with my wife Rose and two teenage boys.
Full statement
We moved here five years ago, so my boys could walk to school rather than take the bus from Lambourn and can could be involved in the local community.
I have a huge amount of experience, having been a Councillor in Berkshire for 16 years when we lived in Lambourn and I was a Cabinet member and Council Leader for 5 of those years. My interest if I am elected are Healthcare (I work for a biotech research company), education, and social mobility.
Whilst I was a Councillor and Leader I removed the fines from Children's books in our libraries, so disadvantages families could get risk free access, introduced the living wage to support families employed by the Council on lower grades and set a target for the delivery of affordable houses by developers - making them keep their promises!
If elected, getting a fair rural village settlement and bringing forward additional healthcare support in the Harwell area will be my focus.
