As you are probably aware, local government in Essex is currently undergoing its most significant change in fifty years.

The existing “ two-tier” system - where services are split between Tendring District Council and Essex County Council - is set to be replaced by a new, all-purpose unitary authority.

This transition is a complex undertaking. It requires the efficient “de-aggregation” of existing council structures to ensure that essential services –from our highways and schools to social care and bin collections –continue without disruption. During this critical period it is essential that our end of Essex receives balanced and fair representation. A voice with proven experience is needed to navigate this administrative shift and ensure that our unique local values and the assets and services we treasure are not lost in a larger organisation.

My aim is to serve you and ensure that this area benefits from the local government reorganisation that is beyond our control. I believe I have the skills to represent you and manage this transition effectively, and will ensure that the Frinton and Walton division remains a priority within the new North Essex unitary structure. Now is not the time for inexperience.
