Henry Wheeler has been a Gedling Borough Councillor since 2011.

He was elected to represent the Killisick Ward in 2011 before Local Government Boundary Changes in 2015. When Henry was elected to represent the new Coppice Ward which includes a large part of the former Killisick Ward. Henry is Gedling Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing and is the Councils representative on the Nottinghamshire Health and Wellbeing Board. Henry is a part time Youth Worker and Learning Mentor/TA working locally at Arnold Hill Academy and Redhill Young Peoples Centre. Henry has also served as an SEN Governor at Killisick Junior School in Coppice Ward. He is also the Chair of the Killisick Localities Initiative and has campaigned for many years on social and environmental issues. In particular Henry has campaigned to improve the life chances of socially disadvantaged children and is involved in work to prevent young people getting involved in knife crime. He has also previously worked as a voluntary Welfare Rights Advice Worker. Henry is a member of the public services union UNISON. Henry spends his spare time on his allotment.
