Statement to voters

Bio Lisa Scott Lisa has been resident in the constituency for nearly 20 years, the past 8 of which, she has been working for the community in the form of Parish Councillor.

Full statement

Her career has been in science , where she has learned how to interpret and apply data and learning, and Project Management where her soft skills enable her to ensure global teams work together seamlessly. Locally, Lisa has spearheaded the exposure of waste dumping, that has been contaminating land and waterways, been at the forefront of the community fight against Green Belt development, and participated at the Gatwick Airport expansion hearings, ensuring local voices are represented and a significant fund for impacted residents is tabled. Lisa has worked to bring forward significant upgrade projects to improve cycling and walking infrastructure, with the aim of making walking and cycling a feasible travel option for any member of the community. Lisa believes passionately that the key to a positive future is through strong, vibrant and caring communities. Protecting and promoting local trades, businesses and services to create quality local jobs. As a Green, Lisa supports a 4 day week and Work From Home culture to reduce the pressure to commute. Less commuting results in less traffic on our heaving and pot holed road system, less pollution of our air, lower carbon emissions and a reclamation of the hours spent on the daily commute to a faceless office building. That extra personal time can lead to an increase in loyalty and respect for our home areas, as we get to spend more time in the place we live, with our families. She is a home energy and retrofit expert, having made a learning project of transforming a draughty Edwardian shop in to a cosy home, future proofed with negative energy bills. Lisa is also a keen home cook and allotmenter and travels by bike when possible.
