Since retiring, I’ve become a member of West Horsley Parish Council and helped to produce their Neighbourhood Plan. I volunteer at West Horsley Place, am a member of the local WI and the Horsley Countryside & Preservation Society and belong to The Woodland Trust and CPRE.” In 2019 Catherine became a GBC Councillor and is focussed on reviewing the Local Plan and on Climate Change. “Protecting our precious landscape - our Green Belt, green fields, open spaces and our Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - is vital to our residents’ health and wellbeing, as is the preservation and enhancement of our wildlife and natural environment. If re-elected, I will work hard to ensure that new homes (reflecting local need) are built in sustainable locations, at affordable prices, and adopt a Brownfield-first approach.”
