Statement to voters

Micky Leng is Whitley's Labour candidate for the local election on 2 May. Micky lives in Whitley where he has raised his family. He is a sub-contract carpenter to the building industry. Well known locally, he is involved with several community projects and has worked with Whitleyโ€™s Labour councillors for a number of years.

Micky believes that the Government has been so concerned with its internal divisions over Brexit that it has not paid enough attention to issues which affect people in their local communities such as cuts to funding for social care and education plus the high cost of housing and transport.
