Tom moved to Dursley in 2022 from South Gloucestershire.

He loves Dursley for its beautiful natural environment, strong sense of community and excellent local facilities such as The Pulse and the high-street.

Having previously stood for election with the Green Party in 2019, he decided to stand again to protect the district’s green spaces, encourage and strengthen community resilience and stand up for tenants. As a single father of an autistic son, Tom is passionate about accessibility for neurodivergent people and support for their families and carers.

In his spare time, Tom helps to run Dursley After Hours, a project that brings live music events to the town during the spring and summer and has raised funds for the GL11 community hub. He is also actively involved with Dursley Town football club, helping the club promote itself on social media, including running the Twitter feed on match days.

Once a Labour supporter, Tom moved to the Green Party as he admired its genuinely progressive and socialist ideas and its equal focus on social, environmental and economic justice.

He works in car leasing and is a member of the Unite union and the Green Party Trade Union Group. He has stood on picket lines with the NEU in Gloucester and the RMT and CWU in Bristol. He has also supported climate strikes throughout the South West.
