Who Can I Vote For?

Coronavirus

All elections have been postponed.

The government has passed legislation to postpone all elections until 6 May 2021.

Ted Strike

Ted Strike was an independent candidate in Ingleby Barwick East in the Stockton-on-Tees local election. Our volunteers have been adding information on Ted Strike - here's everything we know so far!

Statement to voters

I am 64 years old, I was born in Thornaby and moved to Billingham when I was 6-months-old. I have lived in the borough of Stockton all my life, unlike the Tory, LibDem and Green candidates.

I am a committed Christian, I was a prison visitor for 7 years, starting up the Teesside Prison fellowship. In 1996 I formed Chernobyl Children’s relief and raised money and collected aid to send to Belarus, the country most affected by the disaster.

I am FULLY committed to a FULL BREXIT, I was the Vote Leave co ordinator for Stockton unlike the Labour candidate who campaigned against Brexit and continues to fight to remain in the single market and therefore saddle the UK with uncontrolled immigration.

I was a firefighter in Cleveland Fire Service and moved to an industrial fire fighter at seal Sands for Monsanto, before becoming a safety officer working overseas and offshore before starting my own small business. I understand the area and the problems we face.

I have campaigned against the Labour council ridiculous policy of borrowing £17m to build a Hampton by Hilton Hotel, saddling the council tax payer with £30m of debt. Their “business plan” which was already requiring 85 occupancy at £85 per night has been made even more difficult by two further applications for an 80 room hotel in Thornaby and a 50 room FIVE STAR hotel at Wynyard.
