Jacqui Sewell will be the Green Party candidate for Marshwood Vale at the Dorset Council elections on May 2nd 2024.

Jacqui first moved to the Marshwood Vale in 1974 living and working on a farm with her family, and serving as the West Dorset District Councillor for Broadwindsor for 12 years from 2007 to 2019. She is a long-standing Parish Councillor.

Jacqui has been involved with numerous local groups and initiatives such as the Broadwindsor Community Shop, the reinstatement of Post Office Services, helping to develop the the Broadwindsor Group & the Upper Marshwood Vale Neighbourhood Plans, the Marshwood Community Land Trust and the Broadwindsor Group Parish Community Land Trust.

Jacqui has worked and campaigned for many years to help preserve the bus services in this area.

Jacqui says "I was the first West Dorset District Councillor to be awarded a BTEC in Local Governance and I also trained as a Mediator."

"I joined the Green Party as I realised that they were the only party that shared all my views. That was my New Year's Resolution in 2020! And I am delighted to have been selected as the Green Party candidate for this area."
