Statement to voters

I live in Emmbrook with my family.

Full statement

My children went to local schools. I love living here and being involved in the community. I’m involved with many community groups and helped start Wokingham Pride and the local Refill scheme to prevent plastic pollution. Since being elected as a borough councillor for Emmbrook in 2019 I’ve had the opportunity to help hundreds of people with a wide variety of issues.

I’ve also been serving as the Executive Member for Equalities, Inclusion and Fighting Poverty for nearly two years, working to ensure that everyone in Wokingham can access the services which they need and on the council’s response to the Cost of Living crisis. During this time the Lib Dems have established the Hardship Fund, which has seed funded a number of longer term projects to fight poverty. We’ve worked with voluntary and community partners to distribute emergency government funding including the Winter Warmers project which turned £60,000 of investment into over a million pounds worth of benefit to residents. If I’m re-elected I will work to boost cross council working to support those living on the lowest incomes.
