Statement to voters

I was first elected as a district councillor eight years ago, and have also served for the past 16 years as an Uckfield Town councillor.

Full statement

I have lived in Uckfield for 62 years. My husband and I know Uckfield well and have watched it grow. We do not have the infrastructure the town needs if it is going to continue to grow; such as adequate medical facilities.

I have been successful in helping to prevent developments that were not needed in the area, and I will continue to fight against those not in the public interest. Uckfield needs affordable housing for local people.

We are lucky to live surrounded by beautiful countryside and we need to protect this important environment.

As a member of Wealden’s Scrutiny Committee I have been involved with the work done to hold Southern Water to account over sewage in watercourses.

Keeping fit and healthy is important for all ages, young and old and we need to ensure all leisure facilities are retained.

Over the years I have helped to resolve many residents’ issues and if re-elected I will continue to help you.
