Statement to voters

I am Chrissie Cooper and married to Tony Cooper, your current District Councillor for the Romney Marsh Ward.

Full statement

I am a Parish Councillor on Dymchurch Council and have been representing you, and working with others for the benefit of the community and holding others to account. I am also the Chair of the Patient Participation Group at Martello Health Centre representing patients and working with the management team to improve the services to patients. I have decided to stand as the Labour and Co-Operative Candidate for this election to add my voice on the District Council, and get even more things done in Burmarsh, Dymchurch, Newchurch, St Mary’s Bay and St Mary in the Marsh. Plan of Action—Get the Basics Right 1. Visit the administrators of the development of the former Sands Motel and call for it to be demolished and possibly be replaced with a Medical Centre 2. Improve the face to face access to council services across the Marsh. 3. Replace broken street signs and street lights, increase the visits of dog wardens and tighten up fines for dog fouling . Renew flower, shrub and tree planting across the Romney Marsh Ward. 4. Campaign to change the District Council’s name to Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh District Council 5. Object to any development in the absence of genuinely affordable housing for local people 6. Lobby Southern Water to improve and maintain the sewage and water infrastructure 7. Lobby Stagecoach to reinstate the morning 3 buses per hour 102 Bus Service 8. Campaign to increase the number of dropped kerbs in Dymchurch and outlying villages.
