I have been your County Councillor since 2021 and am standing for re-election on Thursday May 7th.

I have a strong track record in standing up for residents’ needs in my Division and am not afraid to speak out and
raise issues even if makes me unpopular at County Hall. I have developed strong relationships with parish councils,
community groups and residents.

I grew up in Robertsbridge, have lived in Ticehurst for 15 years, and am extremely passionate about protecting and
enhancing the High Weald.

Local Government is in crisis due to a lack of funding from Central Government over many years. East Sussex County
Council (ESCC) is recognised by professional bodies as being a well-run council and has made £153 million savings
since 2010; however, in common with local governments of all political colours, some borrowing has been required
this year to balance the budget.

76% of the ESCC budget goes on Adult Social Care and Children’s Services with demand continuing to increase.
This leaves very little for the other services we deliver, and which residents greatly care about, such as our roads and
pavements. If I am re-elected I will continue to do what I have always done which is to put the residents’ needs first,
whether it be helping and advocating for access to services, protecting the beautiful landscape in which we are all
so lucky to live or calling for Highways improvements in my division.
