I’m Gareth Mackey, your local Independent Candidate. I live in the heart of Mid Bedfordshire, Flitwick. I have represented you as a Town Councillor, since 2011 & Central Bedfordshire Council since 2019. I have served as Chairman of CBC since 2023. The people of Mid Beds know how to vote Independent, having elected the first Independent run Unitary Council in England. I represent a kind of politics which goes back to basics. The kind of politics which puts local people before Political Parties who know nothing about you and your life. On the other hand, I am deeply connected to this part of the world. It has been my home for nearly twenty years. I frequently hear people tell me that they want an MP they know and trust. In me you will have an MP whose world is Mid Beds and its people. Public service is in my DNA. Being your MP would give me the opportunity to keep paying back my community for giving me a home. We are all tired of the same old politics with the same results. I am here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be like that. A vote for Gareth Mackey, is a vote for politics with ethics, integrity, honesty and common decency. Let’s reject the politics of hate and division. The time has come to abandon the tactical approach which compromises your principles. Vote for the candidate who has always done right by you.
