Statement to voters
Kingston and Surbiton's residents have been let down by establishment parties - at gridlock nationally, and failed locally.
I see this in the community everyday - be it the decline of our High Streets in Kingston and New Malden, or the failure to address issues such as proper school funding, leaving headteachers in Kingston having to clean toilets.
I've been campaigning in Kingston and Surbiton for five years, with a proven track record with the support of local people. Together, we've saved the Fountain Roundabout, secured the future of the Malden Centre, scrapped the disastrous Liberal Democrat proposals for CPZ charge hikes (saving residents over £300 per year) - to name but just three of our many achievements.
Kingston needs a fresh start, and I've come to the conclusion that this change can't be provided by any national party - who serve their party before their constituency.
Being an Independent candidate gives me the ability to represent you without being required to follow a party line. Every MP has the right to vote in the Commons, but most are often obliged to vote against their own beliefs in order to support their party.
I will always be free to form my own views and would do my best to represent Kingston and Surbiton. In a hung Parliament in particular, every vote counts.
I will be the voice of Kingston and Surbiton in Westminster, not the voice of Westminster in Kingston and Surbiton.
