Haroun Malik is a solicitor and Partner at MCO Defence Solicitors.

Graduating from the University of Dundee with an LLB(Hons) and Dip LP from Dundee University. He has been involved in successfully defending a number of high profile cases specialising in Criminal Defence and Road Traffic Law. Haroun has campaigned for civil rights and equality and is also a Director at WESREC (West of Scotland Regional Equality Council). Haroun was brought up in Cumbernauld & Kilsyth living in Seafar as a child. He is standing on a platform to focus on rebuilding the local economy . He is campaigning to ensure that all U.K Government support that is given to the Scottish Government is not withheld from businesses and people in Scotland with a focus on saving jobs & livelihoods in Cumbernauld & Kilsyth . Haroun is campaigning to support local businesses trading again and to help them recover from COVID ensuring they get the support they need. Haroun believes that we should have no more Independence Referendums and should focus entirely on recovering from Covid , moving back to normality in a safe way, supporting vulnerable people , working with the U.K Government to quickly roll out vaccines , getting our schools open & improving our education system, creating jobs and well paid careers , supporting our NHS and local services , tackling anti social behaviour & crime , supporting elderly and vulnerable people and helping to support local amenities to improve life for the people of Cumbernauld & Kilsyth . Haroun also supports free breakfast and lunch for all school pupils upto P.7 and will fight for the extra support that the U.K Government has provided to continue for the people of Cumbernauld & Kilsyth as they tackle the Pandemic.
