Phil Rees is the Plaid Cymru - The Party of Wales candidate in Gwersyllt North in the Wrexham local election. Our volunteers have been adding information on Phil Rees - here's everything we know so far!

Statement to voters

"I live in Gwersylllt, and have been a Community Councillor for Gwersyllt North for 2 years.

I'm a former bank manager currently running my own small business as a wedding photographer. I’ve also worked with a number of charity and voluntary organisations including Victim Support, a Volunteer Bureau and young people’s enterprise organisation, which has given me a very broad experience of working in the community.

I'm committed to openness and transparency, and to better engagement with residents. As a Community Councillor one of my first steps was to set up the Newyddion Gwersyllt News Facebook page, to communicate directly with residents, and respond to their concerns.

Regular contact with residents has given me a clear understanding of local issues, whether it's the proposed inappropriate housing developments in Summerhill and the impact that will have on traffic and our overstretched services, the problems with footpath maintenance around Heol Hyfryd and First Avenue, or the sense of being ‘left out’ that some of our residents in Sydallt and the more outlying areas can feel."

This statement was added by Phil Rees, their team, or by a Democracy Club volunteer, based on information published by the candidate elsewhere.
