Statement to voters

You are choosing a new local councillor in the l upcoming local council by-election on Thursday 5th March.

Full statement

We are being let down by our existing local councillors, they are saying one thing and then doing the opposite. Whether it's Labour councillors promising to not cut free public events, and
then cancelling the fireworks. Or Reform Councillors saying they'll cut your Council Tax and then raising it. You need a better Councillor.

I'm a hardworking local man who like many have been struggling. I work full time for the NHS and I deeply care about people. I'm a former councillor who knows how to get things done and have a strong track record of positive change for my area, including £100,000's of investment into the roads and hundreds of fixed potholes, new and improved play areas and local community groups receing funding in the tens of thousands. That is what I bring as your candidate and what I want to do for Spital.
The upcoming local council by-election is a chance to vote for change.
A vote for me is a vote to invigorate our town centre and support small businesses. A vote for me is a vote to support local households who need help from the council, not council tax rises. A vote for me is a way to get a community champion elected to the council who is focused on tackling issues like potholes, over development and traffic.

These are the issues I will focus on. What I offer is experience at scrutinising council decisions and uncovering hidden issues that will affect us all. I want
to stop things like wasting public money and hiding decisions away from the public.

I will shine a light on the decisions being made that are hidden from you, like Reforms County Councillors delaying flood prevention strategies and
local road repairs and Labour Borough Councillors cutting more free town centre events.

This election will not change the political control of Tamworth Borough
Council, but it is a chance to shine a light on what is happening at the
council.
Some candidates will promise you things they can’t deliver, or things that
are nothing to do with the council.
I promise you only what I can deliver.
A vote for me in the upcoming by-election is a vote for someone who will
act on local issues and be your community champion.

I will work hard for you both in the Council Chamber and in our
neighbourhood. Including working with current councillors, police and community groups to form a community surgery.

Thank you for taking the time to hear from me and if you want to get in
touch with me, please do drop me an email on
brett@localconservatives.org.uk.
