Full statement
With few young people as councillors in this part of the borough, he worries that younger residents have disengaged from politics and often don’t feel valued or listen to.
Elliott wants to make sure that the Council knows and understands what matters to all of the residents in the ward, whether that’s younger residents like him, or those that have lived in the ward for longer and understand what the key improvements need to be.
As a key worker at the local supermarket Elliott understands just how hard the pandemic has been on everybody and was disappointed that the Council didn’t choose to freeze charges on essential services this year.
