Susan moved to Shropshire with her retail career as a manager for M&S and Laura Ashley, roles that were all about people and teams: hence her passion for business She joined local government as a PA gaining valuable experience of the needs and concerns of local residents before joining the business team.

Susan says:” My knowledge of how Shropshire Council works means that I can hit the ground running to help my residents and the wider community”,

Susan believes in opportunity and helping people to fulfil their potential: she was a Young Enterprise Mentor working to motivate young people to succeed in the changing world of work by equipping them with the work skills, knowledge and confidence they need to succeed as well as running education events around STEM skills (science technology ; engineering; maths) She helps run the Conservative Women’s Organisation which aims to encourage more women into public life e.g. Councillors, MPs or School Governors. She’s a Volunteer Poppy Appeal Organiser in Shrewsbury leading a team of 60 volunteers. Volunteer Brian, says: “I've worked with Sue for the past 4 years and she is cheerful, energetic and organised - you couldn't wish for a better councillor"

Her two daughters live and work in Shropshire, with her eldest attending Harper Adams University before working in the veterinary field, and her youngest working for a Shropshire cancer charity that both Susan and her husband volunteer for. Susan says “I have a passion to make a difference in life whether at work or as now in politics helping local people to resolve local issues”
