Statement to voters

I have been so fortunate to be given the opportunity to represent Warren Park Ward since 2022 and welcome the opportunity to stand as a candidate for Leigh Park Hermitage ward.

Full statement

Since becoming elected I've dedicated my role as councillor to raising awareness for issues within Leigh Park and I've frequently raised my concerns about issues in the area in full council meetings.

I've also committed time to supporting local support scheme initiatives such as the PO9 Freebank Christmas and Easter appeals, as well as donations towards school uniform bank with school uniform and Stationary.

I am a proud third generation Leigh Parker, and I will always aspire to create a Leigh Park to be proud of and one that provides equal opportunities for all.

If Re-Elected I will

• Continue lobbying for rental property costs to return to being affordable. We need more social rented properties in the borough and we need to ensure there are housing opportunities that are affordable for our residents.

• Continue to support small local businesses and continue to support the new Leigh Park Vacant Shop Scheme. It is high time Park Parade is given the opportunity to return to the hub it once was.

• Continue emphasising the need for more activities locally for young people. I attempted to put forward a motion to support Making Space, a charity operating within the Borough, which was sadly rejected by our current administration. I will continue seeking opportunities to fund and support extra-curricular activities for young people in the borough.
