I am standing in the 2024 West Yorkshire Mayoral election as an Independent candidate.

I believe that the political party system is hopelessly corrupt. The only way to make democracy genuinely work for the people is to elect independent candidates.

The Labour Mayor and Conservative government intend to continue to wage war on motorists. They will increase tax and restrictions on private transport despite the majority of the population being dependent on private cars and vans to work, care for relatives, shop and socialise. I will defend motorists and resist moves towards implementing low traffic neighbourhoods and 15 minute restriction zones.

Policing should be about reducing crime in West Yorkshire not about adhering to the latest politically correct iniative. I will ensure that it is.

I will protect our farmers and the vital rural economy against moves to concentrate food production in the hands of global corporations.

I will ensure that housing prioritises the needs of existing residents. I am a Brexit supporter and believe that the opportunities offered by our departure from the EU have been deliberately sabotaged by the London based political class. I believe we need an honest and open debate about the right levels of immigration to the UK - probably resolved through a national referendum.
