James lived in Oxford for over 20 years, where he was a Green Party activist, mainly at election times.

He was an active member of Oxford Friend of the Earth and has been a member since the 90s. Nearly 20 years ago, he set up Oxford’s influential cycling advocacy group, Cyclox, which thrives to this day. James moved upriver to Charlbury seven years ago. Lured by the great cycling with Café de la Post pit-stops, the Rosie, and festivals all around, it was the best move he ever made. He’s a freelance writer and at his office in central Charlbury, he writes schoolbooks for children learning English in schools all around the world. When the Charlbury Town Council declared a climate emergency, he joined a team of volunteers looking at helping Charlbury and satellite villages lower their carbon emissions from journeys, things like a shared electric car/e-bike club, and a better local cycling network, especially for younger residents, connecting us all up. If elected, these are some of the areas he’d like to focus on as a councillor, as well as finding out what the people of Chadlington and Churchill want and need.
