I have been working hard across Brookvale and Kings Furlong since 2019. Many will have seen the work I do from my regular Focus newsletter where I report back on case work and issues that have been raised with me.

I moved to Basingstoke in 2018. Prior to my retirement in 2019 I provided legal and regulatory advice to businesses in regulated sectors. Since retirement I have been very active in the community. I was a trustee with Brookvale Community Association and remain an active volunteer helping to run things like the Thursday Lunch Club and our jumble sales. I am a trustee for Basingstoke Voluntary Action which provides infrastructure support to charities and organisations in the voluntary sector across the Borough. As a guide dog fosterer I supported early years training and saw two of my wards successfully graduate into service.

I believe a local councilor should be visible and approachable and should communicate back, even when the news isn't good or what the resident wanted. However since the Lib Dems went into the Administration in 2023 there has been plenty of good news, such as:

1. Investing in services, delivering better street cleaning and grounds maintenance; 2. Reducing emissions from council activities, creating a green team to help residents go greener too; 3. Funding a new leisure centre and working with ice users and the football club to secure their future; 4. Delivering a bio-diversity team to preserve our wildlife and natural spaces.

I believe these issues are important to residents. With your help I will be able to support these and the other great projects that are being delivered.
