Statement to voters

Sean Dillow – Conservative Candidate for the Basingstoke Central Division.

Full statement

On 7th May, you will be choosing who represents you at Hampshire County Council. Yes, it’s the first opportunity since the General Election for residents to have their say — but more importantly, it’s about electing a County Councillor who will work hard for Basingstoke.

I’m Sean Dillow — a Borough Councillor, family man, and proud Basingstoke resident for nearly 40 years. I’ve raised my family here and worked locally as a photographer for the Basingstoke Gazette. I’ve seen the very best of our town — and its challenges too.

Residents know me as a councillor who stands shoulder to shoulder with local people, asks difficult questions, and rolls up his sleeves to fight for the community.

Hampshire County Council is responsible for the services that affect our daily lives — roads and transport, adult social care, education, SEND provision and children’s services. If elected, I will work tirelessly to ensure these services deliver the very best for residents.

I will push for:

Safer roads, fewer potholes and proper resurfacing

High-quality care for elderly and vulnerable residents

Strong schools and better SEND support

More free parking to support independent businesses

An infrastructure-first approach to new housing, ensuring community facilities come first

I am supporting residents impacted by the SNG regeneration proposals, stood with the Down Grange community to protect Down Grange Park, and continue to back the campaign for Local Nature Reserve status for Old Down Woodland Park.

I believe residents deserve a councillor who challenges underperformance, demands value for money, and fights for better outcomes.

If you want a County Councillor who campaigns, supports the community, and speaks up for residents —

Vote Sean Dillow on 7th May.
