I am standing as an independent candidate to represent the people of Cedar Hall and these are the main areas I stand for: • Listen to what people want in the area and represent the people of Cedar Hall, Thundersley • Honesty and transparency • Protect the green belt and wildlife • Expand services (schools, health/social care, police and roads) before building affordable houses • Put streetlights back on overnight • Keep libraries open and make them more of a community base • Facilities for young people • Ensure budgets are allocated fairly in the borough As an Independent candidate I can represent you independently and won’t be constrained by National Party Policies The current plan to build new houses in Castle Point on green belt land needs to be stopped.

Full statement

In Cedar Hall we do not have the adequate services to accommodate any more people or houses. In Thundersley, the A129 Rayleigh Road between The Weir and Hadleigh is at full capacity. Building hundreds of houses on green belt land is unthinkable. We need affordable housing for young people from this area to be able to stay local and to be able to afford their own property, but this should be primarily using already developed areas. We should only be building affordable housing if the roads and services are also able to be expanded.
