Statement to voters

I’m standing as Reform UK's candidate in Eastleigh South Ward in the local election on Thursday 2nd May 2024 and am also proud to announce that I have been selected as Eastleigh's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the upcoming General Election.

Full statement

I have stood 4 times now for Reform UK since 2021, making me an experienced Local Politician with a demonstrable track record of engaging with constituents.

A bit about me, I have lived and worked in Eastleigh since 2011 and care deeply about the town and borough I feel lucky enough to call home.

As a taxpayer, I have become increasingly disappointed and frustrated in the quality of public services provided by the Council and its stakeholders. Once elected, I will work tirelessly to slash unnecessary bureaucracy and red tape to free up money to improve the services we receive from the Council which have been deteriorating year on year. I will be a challenging, robust voice on the Council something which has been sadly lacking due to the Liberal Democrat monopoly.

The Liberal Democrat controlled Eastleigh Council is on the brink of bankruptcy due to their financial mismanagement over decades which has created thousands of pounds of debt for every single Eastleigh resident. This needs to stop and I will hold them to account at every opportunity to the benefit of Eastleigh residents.

We all deserve value for money public services that deliver positive, tangible results; be that something as basic as getting our bins emptied on time right through to revitalising the town centre which has very sadly changed beyond all recognition over the last few years; what once used to be a vibrant shopping hub is now a wasteland of empty units. Eastleigh residents deserve more than the Council is currently delivering.

A particular issue I am very troubled by is the rising level of violent crime, anti-social behaviour and drug dealing in the town which I believe has not been helped by the closure of our police station that not only provided a safe and accessible place to residents needing to use it, its geographical prominence undoubtedly acted as a deterrent against crime in the vicinity. We have the right to feel safe in our town with a visible police presence to provide that comfort and assurance, not a remote office on the outskirts that you cannot walk into without making an appointment.

A bit more about me, I currently work at Aviva Health in Eastleigh as Executive Assistant to the CEO also sitting on the Senior Leadership Team. Previously, I worked in the NHS at Omega House for almost five years, supporting a Clinical Commissioning Group Board which gave me a working insight into how public services are organised and delivered… there is a lot of work to do. I also worked for the Commissioning Support Unit at Omega House in the Freedom of Information Team dealing with requests from members of the public, Councillors and MP's.

In 2015, I worked at Prysmian in their centenary year, supporting the CEO and Senior Management Team and whilst there was involved in organising a UK Trade and Industry visit.

I have a proven track record of representing constituents having been Chair of the UK Employee Forum representing some 4,000 colleagues whilst working at Quilter in Southampton.

I have also formed and lead a local Leaseholder Action Group on my housing development fighting for much needed changes in Leasehold law via the National Leasehold Campaign who are demanding equal rights for Leaseholders that other homeowners enjoy. This role came about following being fraudulently ripped off and by our former Managing Agent. I am passionate in driving change for Leaseholders as a result and am developing and crafting Leasehold policy for Reform UK as their expert in this field.

My strongly held personal values coupled with my practical working experience, gained in both public sector organisations and professional services businesses, including law and financial services, affords me the knowledge, experience and skills to properly represent you as a Councillor and Member of Parliament.

So, if you are hungry for impactful and meaningful change, are disillusioned with the shenanigans of the main parties or just feel politically homeless, why not consider voting for me.

Its time to start voting for what we want rather than what we fear. There is no longer any difference between the Conservatives and Labour, only Reform UK can deliver the changes needed to Save Britain.
