I have lived in the Derwent Valley for nearly 40 years.

I am a former journalist and communications consultant. Before I retired in 2021, I ran my own business for 18 years. I've been a university lecturer, a charity trustee and chairman, and a non-executive director of two local NHS Trusts. I am often seen around my local village picking litter which seems to have inspired several young people to follow my example. I have been involved in campaigns to save the beautiful Derwent Valley Country Park from a madcap railway reinstatement scheme and am working to bring the services of an electric vehicle car club to my village.
