Statement to voters

As a former Durham Police Sergeant, and having served in the military, Robert's knowledge, experience and understanding of policing puts him in a good position to get Durham Constabulary back on track.

Full statement

Robert is certainly no stranger to public service, prior to serving in Durham Constabulary, he served our country abroad in the armed forces, and he's now the Durham County Councillor for Evenwood.

Robert often speaks to residents about their concerns with Durham Constabulary, and it certainly isn't the force he used to serve.

We all expect to be able to contact our local police force, which should prompt a swift and effective response, and we should expect our Constabulary to act with integrity. Currently, that's not the case.

Robert will work to improve the 101 service and response times, whilst putting more officers on our streets to make sure an officer is there when needed. But more needs to be done to ensure the culture of Durham Constabulary changes, and Robert's experience gives him the skills to take action quickly and restore trust, confidence, and pride in our local police force.
