About Sue, A Brackley person who lives in the town with her husband bringing up her three children after returning to her hometown 24 years ago.
Full statement
Her understanding of the local area and its needs, along with her experience as a Brackley Town Councillor for the last six years, gives her the right combination of fresh thinking and experience needed to represent Brackley in both Town and West Northamptonshire Councils.
Aims, -To continue to listen to residents over their concerns. -To help our community grow its infrastructure in line with our needs. -To make sure our environment and heritage is respected. -To work full time to deliver the best services to residents.
Campaigning, -Keeping Brackley Library open and funded. -Bus routes and better timetables, reintroduction of a community bus.
Achievements, -Repairs to Farthinghoe Bridge and the reopening of the A422. -Brackley Library saved from closure and now undergoing a refurbishment. -Founder member and trustee of SNYE a charity that provides youth engagement and youth workers for the benefit of Brackley’s young people. -Awarded a certificate of appreciation by Northamptonshire Police for reinvigorating Brackley Neighbourhood Watch S107, community engagement and providing and deploying new reflective NHW signs around the town.
Community, -Councillor trustee for Feoffee Charity in Brackley, this is a role dear to my heart. -The importance of our foodbank has always been a concern for Sue, she works to raise funds, awareness and volunteering throughout the lockdown. -Active member of the Library Volunteers, running art workshops for children and organising and supporting Brackley Knit and Natter, a group bringing people together through craft projects; taking the knitters online via Zoom during lockdown so nobody felt isolated. -Brackley has a strong and resilient community, Sue believes we can build on the sacrifices of lockdowns and the greater appreciation of businesses on our door step gained during these times. She wants to promote the continued use of Brackley businesses protecting jobs and our local economy.
