I am a long-time Amesbury resident: I was born here and attended school in Amesbury, and now live in the east of Amesbury with my wife and two young children. I grew up here, the son of a former Royal Engineer and childminder. I'm an aircraft mechanic at Boscombe Down, where I have been working since completing my apprenticeship there ten years ago. In the last few years, I have committed time to local causes to support and promote the area. I led a team and raised funds to save the local historic church of St Mary and St Melor, organising dozens of community events. I am Deputy Chairman of the Amesbury History Centre Trust, whose aim is to promote the history of the area, attracting tourists from Stonehenge into our local businesses. I sit on the local Chamber of Trade committee. I previously managed a local community centre, Wyndham Hall, for several years, where I ran a Youth Club. When COVID-19 happened, I was a joint founder of the Amesbury Corona Community Hub, which mobilised hundreds of volunteers to assist hundreds of self-isolating people in the local area.
