Statement to voters

I am honoured to have been selected to stand as the Conservative Candidate for Hampshire County Council Liphook, Headley, and Grayshott Division election on May 6th.

Full statement

My husband, Peter and I moved to Bramshott in 2011 from Odiham with our 4 rescue cats. I am a “Hampshire Hog” with ancestors traced back to the early 1800’s. I have many years of business and client management experience in the IT and Communications Industry with expertise and qualifications in marketing, project delivery and services management. During my IT career I have been involved in helping Public Sector organisations, amongst others, to deliver innovative IT solutions to bring new services their customers.

I have also volunteered for charities and causes including the RSPCA, Cats Protection and most recently was a founding member of the Liphook Help Hub created to help our vulnerable and isolating neighbours during the COVID-19 lock down.

The value I bring is ‘I deliver’.

I am an active Bramshott and Liphook Parish Councillor, sitting on the Recreation Committee and as a team member of several Working Parties. I am very concerned about speeding through the villages and have lobbied my fellow Councillors for traffic calming measures. We can look forward to traffic calming gates in Bramshott later this year and wildfowl and deer warning signs to protect our wild animals on our roads. I am really looking forward to supporting the Parish Council Liphook Speed Watch.

I am passionate about conservation, animal welfare and creating a green environment. If elected I will work to

• Ensure continued Road and Traffic improvements
• Protect and enhance our green spaces.
• Increase opportunities for recycling.

and help to reduce speeding, tackle rural crime and respond to climate change.

Working together with Councillors in neighbouring Divisions, I will lobby for affordable, accessible local transport for people living in areas not served by a regular bus service.

“Having taken the difficult decision not to stand again as a County Councillor because of my work commitments, I was delighted to hear that Debbie Curnow-Ford will be standing. I have known Debbie for many year, and I think she would make an excellent County Councillor. She has a proven track record as a parish councillor and is keenly interested in local issues. She is passionate about the environment. I am sure she would serve the residents of Liphook, Headley and Grayshott with dedication and diligence.” – HCC Cllr Floss Mitchell. 16th February 2021

“I am very pleased to give my support to Debbie, as our approved and selected prospective candidate for Hampshire County Councillor for the Parishes of Bramshott and Liphook, Headley, and Grayshott. Debbie is not only on the Committee as Vice-Chairman Political and Campaigning, for Bramshott and Liphook Branch, she is also Damian Hinds’ Election Campaign Manager, and a Parish Councillor for Bramshott and Liphook.
Debbie’s expertise and extensive knowledge of local matters will ensure that she can fulfil the role on behalf of local residents and will be an active participant in the County Council, at Winchester. It is always important to have close liaison with representatives of the District and Parish Councils, a role which Debbie already actively pursues, and when elected, I look forward to working very closely with her.” – EHDC Cllr. Angela Glass, EHCA Bramshott and Liphook Branch Chairman. 9th February 2021

Debbie is dedicated to important causes: passionate about wildlife and a committed environmentalist. She will work very well with officials and fellow councillors to achieve Hampshire’s Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan.
