Statement to voters

My name is Jade Chapman and I am one of your candidates in this year’s local elections in Walsall, standing for the ward Rushall-Shelfield & High Heath.

Full statement

To give you a bit of information about myself. I live locally with my husband and our 5 children. I am a local employer, running a local Healthcare Agency within the heart of Walsall, providing and upskilling local staff to deliver safe care to both Adult and Children's Services and of course our most beloved NHS.

For those of you who don’t know, I have campaigned within Rushall-Shefield for the last few years and have had the privilege of speaking to many of the local community.

During my campaigns, we know there is work to do at the Rushall McDonalds Traffic lights that has led to the tragic, multiple losses of life in Pelsall Lane due to speeding. We have issues with speeding on many roads within our area, particularly one that’s been highlighted to me on my travels is Barns Lane. We have Multiple hot spot areas for fly-tipping. We need to ensure we are protecting and maintaining our Greenbelt by Coronation Road and the protection of the Swans on Stubbers Lane. I’m aware of the issues regarding repairs with WHG, as well as areas with high levels of dog fouling.

If elected, my top priorities as a whole will be:

1. A fair share for our ward - I want to ensure that we receive our fair share of resources and build on the investment we have seen across the area.

2. Protecting our green belt - our green belt matters to you and it matters to me, I will work to protect the Green Belt from inappropriate development.

3. A cleaner & Greener ward - We have kept free garden waste collections and I will work for further improvements to our environment so that we have a cleaner and greener borough.

I will work hard to campaign on all issues we have in our ward and continually seek to make improvements. We live in a lovely area and one which I'm proud of, and would like to represent. I have a vested interest in Rushall-Shelfied & High Heath, and I’m passionate about making a difference here for your family and mine.

I created the Rushall-Shelfield Community Group on Facebook 3 years ago, which has almost touched 3k members. This is a Community Group to keep local people informed and grant access to information and to network.

If you’d like to assist me in my campaign, please get in touch. If you seem me out and about, please feel welcome to say hi.
