Statement to voters

Samia Hersi is the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Queen's Park and Maida Vale.

Full statement

Samia is a born and raised Londoner. She was born in Edgware in North London and grew up in Bow in East London. Samia is the daughter of Somali immigrants. Her father was a refugee who fled the civil war in Somalia. He was a bus driver based at Cricklewood Bus Garage on Edgware Road and her mother was a cleaner.

From a young age, Samia's parents instilled in me the values of hard work and aspiration to achieve a better life for herself and others.

After she graduated from University, Samia worked in schools across London for an education charity, IntoUniversity, and its partner charity, The Clement James Centre, based in North Kensington. She was supporting children and young people in schools across Queen's Park and Maida Vale, including at Paddington Academy, to aspire and achieve.

Samia previously worked as a Parliamentary Researcher for Rt Hon. Gillian Keegan, Member of Parliament for Chichester. She is now a policy and public affairs adviser for a communications agency advising FTSE and NASDAQ 100 companies on financial services and technology policy.
