Ben GREEN — A Strong Local Voice for Our Villages Public service should be about listening, understanding, and getting things done.
Full statement
Not empty promises — but real action that makes a difference. That’s why I’m standing to be your next County Councillor.
I was born in Grantham, raised just down the road, and have always been driven by one simple goal — to make a positive impact. Whether it’s helping councils plant hundreds of acres of woodland in my professional role, improving local recycling, or protecting vital services as a District Councillor, I’ve always believed that good leadership starts with listening to people and acting on what matters most to them.
When a council removed play equipment from a local park, I didn’t just write a letter — I launched a campaign, and we got it reinstated. When residents said they wanted better ways to recycle, I introduced kerbside battery collections — a small change that’s made a big difference. And when a poorly-planned anaerobic digester threatened our countryside, I helped put a stop to it.
But I know that one-off wins aren’t enough. Our villages need a consistent voice — someone who will stand up for rural communities, demand fairer funding, and push for long-overdue improvements to roads and services.
My Priorities for Our Area
✅ Fixing Our Roads – Potholes and poor maintenance make driving dangerous and costly. We need repairs prioritised in our area. ✅ Protecting Our Villages – Development must come with infrastructure: better roads, schools, and healthcare — not just more houses. ✅ Tackling Fly-Tipping – We need a zero-tolerance approach, stronger enforcement, and easier access to waste disposal. ✅ Fighting for Our Fair Share – Rural areas are too often overlooked. I’ll fight to bring more investment into our villages.
If you believe in practical solutions, not party politics — and want a representative who listens, works hard, and delivers — then I’d be honoured to have your support.
Let’s build a better future, together.
