Growing up near Duntrune, and now living in Monifieth, I’ve become embedded in this area. I know first-hand the challenges we face - and the opportunities we can grasp. I believe I can contribute my energy and ideas to improving local services, and giving our ward the hard-working, compassionate representation it deserves.

A key priority for me is tackling poverty and expanding access to education. That’s why I co-wrote the motion which led to the abolition of core curriculum charges in all Scottish schools.

I also know we’ve got so much further to go in tackling the climate crisis. We need passionate and energetic councillors on the ground, arguing for more green investment in our communities.

I’ll also push for more decision-making at a local level. Community empowerment really matters to me. I firmly believe that power is best exercised when it is closest to everyday people. More participatory budgeting will put residents in the driving seat of building our local recovery from the crises of Covid and Brexit.

It’s time to build for the future; to tackle the climate crisis, improve education, build more resilient communities, expand opportunities for young people, help with the cost of living, and assist businesses with the impact of a Brexit we haven’t voted for.
